Wheeled walker with ground accessible brakes?

Good question. I’m also having trouble picturing it exactly anymore (like I said, ~ 15 years ago), but what I recall is the brake levers seemed to be midway along the foam-ish covered handles, so one could grab behind or ahead of the brake levers, like when either initiating a standing or sitting motion, in both of which cases you’d definitely want it stationary, like you said.

But now that you mention this issue, it might be that it is a bad design overall for the infirm or unbalanced - who might have trouble coordinating exact hand placement, and better only for a fairly healthy person experiencing a temporary impediment.

Much to my dismay, my Mom hung her “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up button on the walker” I could not convince her to wear it. Was a bone of contention between us.

She said she wears the button when I was not there. Bullshit. So, she fell and could not get too it (as I predicted). She lied on the floor for 10-20 hours. I suspected something was up when she would not answer the phone. I sent my cousin to her house (I live 100 miles away). She died about 4 days later in hospital.
