You’re making baby Jesus cry. And also me.

> I don’t know if it is actually a ‘plot device’, but I am sick of horror movies in which ‘Character A’ goes into the bathroom, peers into the mirror on the door of the medicine cabinet and sees their reflection, opens the cabinet, then shuts it - and the mirror shows a creepy evil face right behind Character A. God. Do the directors of these movies don’t realize we know these bits are coming, as soon as Character A walks through the bathroom door?

I hate that. Also Character A wakes up in the middle of the night, sleepily shuffles to the fridge, opens the door, then when they close it creepy person is standing there.

I doubt that very much. Breast reduction surgery leaves heavy scarring and both Connoly and Ricci have flashed their breasts since they shrank.

They’re both skinny as rakes now which also shrinks breasts without causing scar tissue, so I’m sure that’s the explanation.

Die Hard did something similar early in the movie.

And, yes, I realize that the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly came 20 years earlier.

> A retired police officer friend of mine tells me that the first rule taught at the Acadamy is “never give up your gun”. If you keep your gun, the situation _might_, however implausibly, be resolved in your favor. If you give it up, it certainly won’t. If nothing else, you can shoot the sumbitch after he shoots the hostage… and if you tell him that is what you will do, he is much less likely to do so.

I was watching Godfather III and thinking that. Andy Garcia has disarmed one intruder and is holding a gun on the other, who has a knife at his girlfriend’s throat.

Suggested more realistic line for Andy: “Your buddy is disarmed. Cut her and she may live, but neither of you will from the gaping head wounds you’ll have inside three seconds. Let her go, and I’ll have some incentive to let you live.”
