When anesthesia fails...

I have a high resistance as well, to pain and painkillers. I was having surgery on my eyelid once and woke up near the end. It was excruciating. I watched the surgeon’s hands (with my other eye) as he put the stitches in. I wasn’t paralyzed though – I was writhing around like a fish. Since it was almost over, the only thing they could do was finish up quickly. I’ve had a few surgeries since then and I always warn the doctors over and over. Luckily it’s never happened again. Although the last time I had a filling I had to have three shots of Novocaine before I was numb.
