When did diploma's stop comming as scrolls?

Probably around the time when when you no longer had to know how to spell or punctuate to be in the MLA.

Sorry, but I had to say something.

You and everybody else

Well, if the OP were in math, physics, or engineering, or somesuch, we could give him a dispensation. But from the fact that s/he’s in the MLA, I’m guessing that’s not the case. The MLA is a society for scholars in literature and languages; I believe most professors in those fields belong to it.

Crozell beat me to my reply. My Rice University sheepskin diploma came rolled up as well. We were advised to have them framed as soon as possible by a framing store experienced in mounting and framing sheepskin. Everyone I knew had it done by Wellhausen’s in the Rice Village. We were also told that replacement diplomas were not cheap; last I heard they were in the neighborhood of $200-$300.

I do recall being given the option to receive a paper non-sheepskin diploma. My feeling was that after 5 years of hell, a sheep was gonna die.

I wasn’t going to reply, but seeing as this is up on the first page again, MLA = Member of the Legislative Assembly, a Politician, not a qualification.
