I keep wondering how you’re supposed to eat it once you’ve picked all the crust off, too. That’s just stupid.

Who wants to take bets that come Sunday, we’ll actually see Jessica appear in one of the commercials? Wasn’t it last year that she and Ashlee did the buffalo chicken pizza commercial during the Super Bowl? I think the one that’s out now is just an omen of worse things to come.

It’s here, but I don’t know what that has to do with pizza.

> My guess is it started with California-style pizza with “upscale” foodie toppings like artichoke hearts, sun-dried goat eyeballs, and the like.

Of coarse California would come up with the sun dried eyeballs. In most of Wisconsin we’re stuck using the oil packed goat eyeballs. You can find some of the Norway imported goat eyeballs if you go to some communities. They’re an aquired taste though, because they’re preserved with lye. You can find the product next to the lutefisk. The lye does tend to cut down the grease, and give the pizza a soapy taste.

I’ll take that as a ‘no’ then. 😛

You’d just sit, staring helplessly at a crustless slice of pizza, not ever imagining that it could be eaten with knife and fork?

Will somebody kindly explain to me the appeal of that woman?

Frankly, she looks like she fell out of the top of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Just to get this thing back off topic, in that first linked photo the very skinny Jessica seems to be severely altered. Don’t know if they airbrushed the ribs but there is a lot of shadow in the back that cuts out part of her back and legs. Not that gossip magazines would have any incentive to alter a celeb’s photo, but maybe something happened inadvertently.

> I may have mentioned this on here before. But either way, here’s the new rule for commercials: If you want to put a commercial on the air, you (meaning the director or producer of the commercial or something) have to first watch it 25 times in a row, with no breaks in between.

I should point out that if a commercial makes it to air, the director has probably already seen it far more than 25 times.

As far as “One of these days these bites are gonna pop right into you”, I’d say no, not bloody likely. I’d have to be more starved than Jessica Simspon to eat one of those cheese-food pimples.

No, I’d just pick it up and complain about the sauce and/or grease on my hands. Seriously, what kind of lunatic eats a pizza with a knife and fork. I’ll make an allowance for a Chicago-style, but otherwise…that’s just wrong.

Likewise. Dip it in some sauce - yummy!

Unfortunately Pizza Hut never fails to disappoint. I suppose it might be worth a shot if it was fresh out of the oven. Let it cool and it turns to crap.

One of my sillier moments was when my wife and I, starving, pulled into a Pizza Hut. For whatever reason I was just dying for the pizza with bits of steak on it. Never had it, and now seemed like the time to finally try it.

“Um, I’m sorry sir, that was a promotion we did two years ago.”

Knife and fork w/pizza - I confess to having to use them on my home-made from time to time. I have a hard time getting the crust thick enough.

Pizza Hut’s normal pizzas are vile. The cheese-infused toy pizzas they sell barely resemble food.

I can’t stand Simpson either, but somehow I doubt I’m the target audience for this ad campaign.

I agree. I’m so sick of the “Girl, eat a sandwich!” comments that get tossed out every time any young celebrity is brought up. Jessica Simpson is thin, and fit, for sure. She’s not “emaciated”, she doesn’t look like a famine victim, she’s not starving. Now, if you had been saying all this while Nicole Ritchie was hawking PizzaHut, I’d agree. And I’m a young female vegetarian - certainly not the target audience for this ad.

What is this anti-thin backlash I’ve been seeing so much of on these boards?

Somewhere in the Pizza Hut HQ, there is someone who has the title of VP of New Products.

This job has got to suck becuase a place that sells Pizza does not need a new products division. You can’t reinvent the wheel. However, this guy, or gal, is really fighting the good fight to keep the job.

It’s not “anti-thin.” It’s anti-unhealthy. These so-called paragons of female beauty are actually dangerous because, yes, young girls want to emulate them. They see some rail-thin actress or model who has a dietitian, chef, personal trainer, and plastic surgeon on retainer and think that’s the standard of beauty they must meet. I have 75 pound 12 year old girls telling me they’re fat because they think they should look like Jessica Simpson, who apparently eats Cheesy Nodules all day and still looks like a goddess.

Overweight people don’t pose the same problem for me because I know none of my students are going to make themselves sick trying to look like them. This Pizza Hut commercial is bad enough just showing that disgusting pizza, but then trying to say someone like Jessica Simpson eats it? Please.

They have already filmed it and the current commercials with her singing are teasers.

The commercial is, apparently, a take off on her “Boots” video. Go figure!

Like I said before, I think she was a very beautiful girl (now she’s just “pretty”). When she started filming Dukes of Hazard, she lost a bunch of weight and I don’t think it looks particularly good on her frame- after all, the girl is only 5’3 so she’s already tiny.

I also don’t think that first photo is altered because it was all over the news, magazines, etc. It is a paparazzi shot that first showed up WireImages or something the day it was taken and then was spread around the net. But who knows, maybe it is?

It’s just slightly odd that she, of all people, is selling pizza (particularly icky, cheesy pizza that even my fat ass wouldn’t eat). Jess has gone on record plenty of times saying that she doesn’t eat carbs, sugar, cheese, etc (and worked out 6 hours a day during Dukes filming).

Well, I guess I will be the first (and only?) person to stand up and say YUM. Give me more cheese in any and every form! I will eat it and love it. I would like a dozen cheese-stuffed pops with a side of alfredo and a side of nacho cheese dipping sauce please. But first, I will melt some cheddar and smoked gouda on top of the pops before dipping them and devouring them. Thank you!

She doesn’t look awful, imho. I just think she looks better carrying some more weight. And she shouldn’t be selling million-calorie a slice pizza.

If you enlarge the photo in your browser, you can see that it’s just shadows making her look emaciated. You can barely see a more full outline if you look closely. And her ribs are showing because she’s clearly sucking in the gut. Those other pictures you just linked to show she’s not overly thin whatsoever.
