# When did the advanced search reset the time variable to "6 months"?

Now I have to make a mental note so that each time I do a search to make sure I reset it to like 10 years, all so I don’t have to wait another five minutes… :rolleyes:

Also, for some reason “1 Year Ago” is not an option; we go straight from six months to two years. I believe it would be a useful option.

In the past it was thought that more selective searches – ones that sliced more finely than “any date” were less intensive on the server than searches made of the entire database, which is what you get with “any date.”

Apparently with the updated software this is not the case and it doesn’t matter, so I have returned the “any date” as the default. I have left the other options in there – including “1 year” if you want a smaller set to look through.
