Yes, but I’d bet the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters who passed on Hillary did so for reasons completely apart from her standing by her man. I’d list some of them here but we’re all aware of Hillary’s many liabilities anyway.

> [@GIGObuster](#):

> As for immigration, that point of yours is silly when one considers that deportations increased during the previous administration, social benefits are not really disliked, that continues to be pandering coming from many Republicans in power. And identity politics is still more the territory of the Trump followers:

> [Trump the 'first step' toward identity politics: Richard Spencer | CBC News](http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/richard-spencer-trump-identity-politics-1.3940205)

As to the former, to whatever degree it’s correct the populace at large is unaware of it, possibly due to the advent of sanctuary cities, efforts to give illegal immigrants government benefits and driver’s licenses, the government refusal to cooperate with efforts to halt illegal immigration, and the left’s propensity to hurl accusations of racism at anyone opposed to illegal immigration. Besides, it’s entirely possible for the rate of deportations to increase while still being outpaced by the number allowed in by an administration largely looking the other way. As to your other claims, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on them.

I’m a registered Democrat since I turned 18 in 1980. I’ve never voted R in a state or national election. When I could not stomach the D running for an office, I usually didn’t vote at all for that office. That happened quite recently. My parents were involved in Democratic Party politics. My dad was a politician and my mom was a county chairman. If you think that the Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, is anything buta nest of scheming, cynical, backbiting, winning is all that matters, what have you done for me lately, assholes…I suggest you step away from the internet and become active in the party itself. Right now, you are almost certainly operating only on what The Machine tells the rubes.

I will have to tell you that you are still drinking a lot from poisoned sources of information.

Just for starters: About benefits:

> **[Do Undocumented Immigrants Overuse Government Benefits? | Econofact](https://econofact.org/do-undocumented-immigrants-overuse-government-benefits)**
>
> Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for most benefits. Many have dependent children or a spouse who are U.S. citizens and may qualify for benefits.

> [@](#):
>
> [ul]
> [li]Many unauthorized immigrants have dependent children or a spouse who are citizens and who may qualify for public benefits. About three quarters of children of undocumented immigrants are citizens. A study using 2014 data estimated that about 40 percent of all adult undocumented immigrants live with U.S. citizen minor or adult children. Therefore, although undocumented immigrants are not eligible for most benefits, their households often receive support. Studies which look at household-level benefit receipts have higher estimated rates for immigrant households than studies that focus on individual level support (for instance, compare this study to this one).[/li][li] Immigration enforcement activity reduces the degree to which undocumented immigrants access benefits for their families. The local enforcement environment matters to benefit participation. For example, in my research looking at immigration enforcement increases in the 1990s, I found that immigrants in areas with elevated enforcement are discouraged from accessing Medicaid benefits on behalf of their citizen children.[/li][/ul]
>
> What this Means:
>
> Despite scapegoating in public discourse, the drain that undocumented immigrants place on government benefit programs is small. The number of low-income undocumented immigrants is small relative to the size of the overall low-income population, and federal law restricts their participation in most programs. Because so little federal assistance is available, some states and localities bear a disproportionate burden. As enforcement efforts become more aggressive, it is expected that undocumented immigrants will be less likely to access public programs on behalf of their children who, as citizens, are legally eligible for these benefits.

As for driver licenses to the undocumented, what was quoted about the ones that can get benefits to their citizen children does apply, there are indeed Americans that will suffer unnecessarily just to kowtow to people that, while they can claim to not hate others, the end result of voting for the current crop of Republicans is to see that hate turn into action.

> **[Unauthorized Immigrants’ Access to Driver’s Licenses Is at Risk (Published...](https://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/12/us/colorado-pulls-u-turn-on-licenses-for-illegal-immigrants.html)**
>
> With Republicans in control of the State Senate in Colorado, the funding for the licensing program was largely stripped, leaving applicants waiting. And in New Mexico, the governor wants to repeal the law allowing the licenses.

You know it’s possible to disapprove of someone or their actions without actually hating them, right?

I’d say that roughly 98% of the hate alleged by the left doesn’t exist in reality. The H-word has become just another arrow in the quiver of leftie buzzwords intended to short-circuit reasonable measures in regard to social issues espoused by anyone not a liberal.

As the depressing news shows, you are quite wrong.

> [@](#):
>
> The CFPB is considered a powerful and independent watchdog. But many Republicans have wanted to shut it down since Day 1 because they think it’s too powerful. Mulvaney is one of them. As a congressman, Mulvaney called the agency a “sick sad joke.” He drafted legislation to abolish it. So people at the bureau were shocked when the president appointed him to run this consumer protection agency.
>
> Within weeks of coming on board, Mulvaney has worked to make the watchdog agency less aggressive. Under his leadership, the CFPB delayed a new payday lending regulation from going into effect and dropped an investigation into one payday lender that contributed to Mulvaney’s campaign. In another move that particularly upset some staffers, the new boss also dropped a lawsuit against an alleged online loan shark called Golden Valley Lending. The suit says the lender illegally charges people up to 950 percent interest rates. It took CFPB staffers years to build the case.
>
> “People are devastated and angry — just imagine how you would feel if years of your life had been dedicated to pursuing justice and you lose everything,” says Christopher Peterson, a former Office of Enforcement attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who worked on this particular case early on.

So, at least you had one thing right: Now what?

I would guess that the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters who took a pass on Hillary does not exist. She got around sixty three million votes. That sounds exactly like **no** Democratic voters passed on her. Please fail to use bullshit language that makes it sound like a lot of Democratic voters turned their backs on her, because that clearly did not happen.

But, but what about all the voters we endlessly hear about around here who stayed away because Bernie, or because Hillary=Wall Street or Hillary=Military and War or because of Hillary’s decades-long reputation for lying and for trying to present herself in the way of whatever wind happens to be blowing? Plenty of people didn’t vote for Hillary who would have voted for a different Democratic candidate. To what degree this was offset by people who didn’t vote for Trump but would have voted for any other Republican candidate is hard to say, but the fact remains that Hillary’s many unlikeable qualities clearly kept a certain number of Democratic voters from the polls.

Of course not. What I posted was clearly my opinion, based on decades of observation. This in no way precludes my scoffing at that ridiculous assertion made by **Elvis**.
