When Did We Get So Hateful?

In a word: yes.

Yes, but I’d bet the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters who passed on Hillary did so for reasons completely apart from her standing by her man. I’d list some of them here but we’re all aware of Hillary’s many liabilities anyway.

As to the former, to whatever degree it’s correct the populace at large is unaware of it, possibly due to the advent of sanctuary cities, efforts to give illegal immigrants government benefits and driver’s licenses, the government refusal to cooperate with efforts to halt illegal immigration, and the left’s propensity to hurl accusations of racism at anyone opposed to illegal immigration. Besides, it’s entirely possible for the rate of deportations to increase while still being outpaced by the number allowed in by an administration largely looking the other way. As to your other claims, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on them.

Really? It’s fooled me.

No kidding. I almost ruined my keyboard when I saw that.

Right.

I’m a registered Democrat since I turned 18 in 1980. I’ve never voted R in a state or national election. When I could not stomach the D running for an office, I usually didn’t vote at all for that office. That happened quite recently. My parents were involved in Democratic Party politics. My dad was a politician and my mom was a county chairman. If you think that the Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, is anything buta nest of scheming, cynical, backbiting, winning is all that matters, what have you done for me lately, assholes…I suggest you step away from the internet and become active in the party itself. Right now, you are almost certainly operating only on what The Machine tells the rubes.

I will have to tell you that you are still drinking a lot from poisoned sources of information.

Just for starters: About benefits:

As for driver licenses to the undocumented, what was quoted about the ones that can get benefits to their citizen children does apply, there are indeed Americans that will suffer unnecessarily just to kowtow to people that, while they can claim to not hate others, the end result of voting for the current crop of Republicans is to see that hate turn into action.

You know it’s possible to disapprove of someone or their actions without actually hating them, right?

I’d say that roughly 98% of the hate alleged by the left doesn’t exist in reality. The H-word has become just another arrow in the quiver of leftie buzzwords intended to short-circuit reasonable measures in regard to social issues espoused by anyone not a liberal.

In a word: no.

Now what?

Right indeed:

“Trump Administration Plans To Defang Consumer Protection Watchdog”

As the depressing news shows, you are quite wrong.

So, at least you had one thing right: Now what?

I would guess that the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters who took a pass on Hillary does not exist. She got around sixty three million votes. That sounds exactly like no Democratic voters passed on her. Please fail to use bullshit language that makes it sound like a lot of Democratic voters turned their backs on her, because that clearly did not happen.

But, but what about all the voters we endlessly hear about around here who stayed away because Bernie, or because Hillary=Wall Street or Hillary=Military and War or because of Hillary’s decades-long reputation for lying and for trying to present herself in the way of whatever wind happens to be blowing? Plenty of people didn’t vote for Hillary who would have voted for a different Democratic candidate. To what degree this was offset by people who didn’t vote for Trump but would have voted for any other Republican candidate is hard to say, but the fact remains that Hillary’s many unlikeable qualities clearly kept a certain number of Democratic voters from the polls.

No, you are wrong. The cfpb has only been in existence for six years. If the entire thing disappeared in a puff of smoke this very evening, the world would keep spinning just fine.

As to the loss of civility, I blame the anonymity of the Internet. We say things to each other online we would never say to one another in person.

You really think your posts are a more factual take on the op than others?

Don’t get my hopes up like that. It’s cruel.

… for lending predators? Yes, but who really does want that?

Same thing then, why it is hard to see the differences? Differences that should not be praised, I may add?

I do not endlessly hear about these people. Most of us have moved on.

Of course not. What I posted was clearly my opinion, based on decades of observation. This in no way precludes my scoffing at that ridiculous assertion made by Elvis. The entire thread is nothing but a listing of people’s opinions. For Elvis to assert that only factually supported comments are the only ones welcome here is ludicrous.

And as usual, one is entitled to opinions, but not the facts.
