But if we take the Virginia Letter at its adult value, Santa exists in the hearts of those who want to believe in him and want others to believe in him. His existence can no more be proved than any other belief that is based on faith.
If you choose to be coldly rational about Santa than he cannot exist for you. The observer does affect the observation in this case.
Besides what about the Tracking by Norad. Isn’t that the physical proof you were looking for?
computerized tracking can be falsified, the NORAD radar blip can be simulated, or the text string of “santa” can be applied to any trackable moving object…
now, if they scramble a couple of fighters out to investigate the radar blip and both pilots can verify by Mk. 1 Eyeball that the object is in question a flying sled with a morbidly obese occupant, pulled by flying Ruminants, then i might consider it possible, once the pilot’s med and psych screenings come back as normal…
Cite your grandmother, I merely articulate a few well-known points about quantum physics. If you’ve done no homework in the last twenty years, I’m not going to play catch-up for you. And my hypothesis has been published, bub.[sup]1[/sup]
Surely you know that the script continues:
SPOCK: (raising eyebrow) Mister Scott, if you <torrent of impenetrable but highly advanced theoretical suggestions>…
SCOTT: (light dawning) Aye, that might just work!
1 In the letters page of New Scientist, if you count that as “publication”
Yes, well, despite your impressive post-count (though you’re an abstainer next to Scott Plaid in his early months), you’ve not been around here very long, have you?
Its not the number of posts, and in my case it is definitely not the quality in my case. It is just that I have an eclectic interest in almost everything and I have always got in trouble for talking too much.
