Rain yesterday afternoon melted the last bits of the first snow of the season. To make room for the snow dumped by the Alberta Clipper today. We now have a pile of shovelled snow about three feet tall at the peak, at the junction between our driveway and the porch area. ---

First snow here in Texas? I dunno, it’s a crapshoot. New arrival said to his wife: “We’re gonna love it here!” ---

Got our first of the year yesterday, east Clackamas County up against the Cascade foothills at about 1200 ft elevation, dumped 2-1/2 or 3" on us from yesterday morning til this morning. About 6" too much for me. I live 30 minutes from Mt Hood, if I decide I want to see snow I can go to it, it doesn’t need to come to me. Spent a few years in Denver, more in Albuquerque, I’ve seen all the snow I need to. ---

From almost 80 last week, to this weekend with some snow and below 30. On an odd note, when it was in the 70s recently, I was walking toward the grocery store, a guy going out to his car said to me, we’re going to need suntan lotion. I was like, does he…know? ---

It snowed last evening here as a friend and I went out to dinner. I forgot how lovely it can be when driving (and walking) through the first, light, snow. It was beginning to collect on the ground but this morning, you could only see snow on the tops of fallen leaves. The ground is still a bit too warm for it. After a slightly frustrating drive home, because everybody was panic driving like there was black ice everywhere, I discovered a weather alert on my phone for the county across the river from my home. They were claiming that road surfaces might be slippery, but of course they weren’t. Not yet. ---

Believe it’s slang for a narcotic. But given the volumes these far north bods are claiming, one would have thought the bottom would have fallen out of the market. ---

We had very light snow flurries here in the Chicago area on Saturday morning, and as i drove north in Wisconsin that afternoon, I ran into a few more vigorous (but brief) snow showers. Chicago’s predicted to get a more significant snowfall Monday night into Wednesday, but still looking at no more than an inch or so, which will probably quickly melt, as the temperatures are going to be at or above freezing. ---

We solidly in winter in the Rocky Mountains. We’ve had about 18"s so far, and it’s 9 degrees f out. Probably won’t hit 20 at this elevation today. It’s here to stay until April.
