I don’t see it either, TampaFlyer, but that’s what several groups were saying. I don’t remember if it was the ACLU, NAACP, or just congressional Democrats. I think the gist of it was that the ID factor could be used as a wedge of harassment. That maybe minority voters would get asked for ID and whites wouldn’t, creating an undue burden.
It would seem simple enough. ID = vote; No ID = no vote. Race not a factor. But I swear sometimes, people can really stretch to make race a factor. Maybe I will get motivated to track this down for a cite or two, but probably not.
