When I had to explain to a co-worker what that plastic thingy that goes in the centre of a 45 was. When several of my co-workers had not seen Star Wars. When I wore a Beatles shirt and had to explain that, no, I did not get it when they were on tour. ---

I have remembered my age incorrectly at least twice in the last couple months. One of the times I was driving my little brother in law (14) somewhere and he brought up something about how I was 23, and it started about a 15 minute argument in which I claimed I was 24. I completely thought I was right until my wife corrected me later that night when I told her about it. I am 23. I am 23. I am 23. She made me apologize to her brother. Ha! Once I mentioned Gumby around some people who aren’t _that_ much younger than I am, and they said “who?” ---

When I was young I was the youngest kid in my class - a year younger than almost everyone else. Since I hated this, I often fibbed and said I was older. It was a habit so long I still sometimes misreport my age. ---

For me it was my first spider vein, which I found last year. I’m 33. Also, when I started having kids, I’d find myself rattling around the house at 3 or 4 a.m. after a feeding because, hey, I was up - I might as well do chores. It didn’t matter that I’d only gotten 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Dammit, there’s stuff to do! Or, I’d stay up just because I could be alone in a quiet house for a few minutes. My grandmother, who was a total insomniac, used to do that. You could wake up at any time of night and find her cleaning or just puttering. ---
