The beetle is a character and just as important as his duster. Looking ridiculous in the beetle is part of the charm. 🙂 I think it was more the logistics. There is only so much time in an episode. You can’t waste 5 minutes watching him try and get out of the car. If the car was the only thing changed I wouldn’t have a problem. No space fighter planes zooming around like they are in the air shooting lasers at each other. But those realistic battles take time. It would be a challenge to keep the battle physics realistic and maintain the pacing needed for a show. _The Expanse_ does a decent job of it but at much smaller distances. ---
