I put on my T-shirt, boxers, and pants. Go to the kitchen to start the coffee pot. I’m still in my slippers. Dress shirt, socks & shoes get put on later when I’m ready to leave the house. ---

I wear socks to bed during the cold months, so tend to leave them on for days at a time. It occurs to me as I write this that maybe I should change this practice. Anyway, even when I am not doing that, ie in the warmer months, socks are the last of the things I put on, as I am barefoot through my house until I need to go out. tldr: pants. ---

You need a “Depends” answer. In the morning, I put on my socks last, before I leave the house. I prefer being barefoot, which drives my wife nuts in the winter. At the gym, I put on my socks first, since they’re right there, and I like over the calf socks, which are easier to put on before pants. ---

When I get out of the shower I generally follow this pattern (I’m a guy): 1. boxer briefs 2. undershirt (on a work day) 3. shirt 4. pants 5. socks 6. belt 7. shoes just before I leave the house. ---

I live in South East Asia and we don’t usually wear footwear at home. Hence, socks are the last to put on, usually only when we go outdoors. Any Japanese around? Do you put on socks only when going out? ---

In order [ul][li]Undershorts[/li][li]Socks[/li][li]Shirt[/li][li]Pants[/li][li]Notice that my socks don’t match[/li][li]Remove one sock[/li][li]Search thru my sock drawer to find a sock that matches the one I still have on[/li][li]Tell the dog to wait a damn minute and I will let him out to go winky-dink in a minute[/li][li]Fail to locate a sock that matches[/li][li]Take the other sock off[/li][li]Re-examine the inventory to find a sock that matches _that_ one[/li][li]Finally locate a candidate[/li][li]Put on both socks[/li][li]Stuff all the socks I took out in my search back into the drawer[/li][li]Find I can’t close the drawer[/li][li]Open the drawer, try to re-match the socks[/li][li]Tell the dog to wait a damn minute and I will let him out to go winky-dink in another minute[/li][li]After matching all socks, find there are three remaining that don’t match with each other or anyone else[/li][li]Stuff the rebels into the laundry hamper[/li][li]Go into the closet to pick out a tie[/li][li]Pick out a tie[/li][li]Put on the tie[/li][li]Discover a significant stain on the tie [/li][li]Take off the tie[/li][li]Pick another damn tie at random[/li][li]Tell the dog to wait another minute, I’m getting dressed, dammit[/li][li]Put on a tie clip and my watch[/li][li]Look around for my wallet, keys, and security badge, which gremlins have hidden[/li][li]Curse the gremlins[/li][li]Look everywhere[/li][li]Discover my wallet has fallen down into the sock drawer[/li][li]Put my keys and wallet into my pockets and clip my security badge to my tie[/li][li]Go downstairs to let the dog out to go winky-dink[/li][li]Realize that I have forgotten to put on shoes[/li][li]Go back upstairs, put on shoes, come back downstairs[/li][li]Let the dog in[/li][li]Realize that I have forgotten my phone[/li][li]Go back upstairs, get my phone[/li][li]Come back downstairs and feed the dog and drink coffee[/ul]IOW I have worked out a system.[/li] Regards, Shodan ---
