Well between short periods of wanting to be a scientist (hadn’t decided what field), usually I wanted to be a minister (preacher). I finally backed out of that when I realized that it would involve trying to comfort terminally ill patients and their families. It didn’t help that my faith by that time was pretty much shot. ---

I wanted to be: -a lion tamer -a movie star -a cowboy (Cowboy, not cowgirl. I had determined that cow_girls_ had to wear silly-looking fringed skirts and vests like my older sisters’ cowgirl Halloween costumes, while cow_boys_ got to wear jeans and bowboy boots.) -a superhero -a truck driver * * * Your Official Cat Goddess since 10/20/99. “We are here! And a farmer and an explorer and photographer for National Geographic and an interviewer of Superheroes (There seemed to be aLOT of superhereos back then.) An an Indian And a screen writer And a movie star And a rock and roll star And a country singer an an an Oh wait…this is all this mornings day dreams… ---

…princess. I seriously thought that I would one day walk down the street, see a sign in a window that said “Princess Wanted”, just walk right in and interview. Also ballerina (I’ve the pictures to prove it.), doctor, nurse, psychologist, teacher… ::sigh:: ---

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I wanted to be an actor, too. And an author. Still have books filled with poems and stories that I wrote as a kid. Even started a “Sweet Dreams”-type book called Flight to Dream Island. The main character and her three best friends (all teenagers) crash-land on an island populated by older versions of themselves. ---

I sorry, I just have to make a smart-ass remark. I been resisting the temptation, but I can’t do it any longer. I wanted to be a crusty old fart when I grew up and I have nearly realized that goal now. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Legolaus (sp)…I also wanted to be an astronaut, or a scientist (Einstein in particular, I was a young geek.)
