# When insecivores catch bees, do they get stung?

Bee-eaters are really cool birds. They have them at the Bronx Zoo, and the keepers toss crickets up in the air for them. The birds will ignore them on the ground, only going for them when airborne.

Also, they present food to their mates. My gf and I saw one grab a cricket, bang it on a branch and then give it to another bird. So of courses, I started doing it. During dinner I’d pick up a French fry, bang it on the table and then present it to her.
