I’m in Whitehorse (It’s the capital of the Yukon Territory, and at 60.7° N ) this week for a job interview. Sunrise here today is 9:00 PST. and sunset is 16:30. Comparatively, in my current home in northern BC (which is at 55.8° N for comparison) sunrise today is 8:34 and sunset is 16:57. ---

Gillette, Wyoming. Rose at 6:57 am, sets at 4:37 pm. And yes, I would prefer waking up in the dark and going home while there is still a bit of light for me to get some work done outside. Instead, it is dark when I walk out to the car at the end of the day. ---

Sunrise 7:03 AM, 111.8° Sunset 5:25 PM, 248.0° Day length 10h22m54s Moonrise 12:50 PM, 112.7° Moonset 11:27 PM, 248.5° (I’m sure that this is enough info to determine my location pretty closely.) I have that info displayed in widgets from [this](https://www.vvse.com/products/en/lunasolcal.html) app on my phone home screen. ---

Sun rose at 6:43AM it was lightly snowing ☹ Sets 5:05PM Central Arkansas it’s not supposed to snow here until mid Dec. My entire schedule changes. We go out for dinner several evenings a week in the summer. It doesn’t get dark until 8pm. We go at 6:45 and are home before dark. Winters we eat dinner at home. It’s not worth going out in the dark and cold to eat. ---

Sunrise 6:40 am – sunset 4:37 pm (16:37) Just outside New York City Day length 9 hours, 57 minutes I was going to say “sunrise too late, sunset too early” but then saw the posts from Juggler in Stockholm, Arrogance Ex Machina in Finland and didn’t feel so aggrieved. ---

This is interesting. I’m looking at my local tv station’s weather App forecast for this week. Nearly each day the sun rises a minute later and sets a minute earlier. Thus 6:43 5:05 Fri 6:44 5:04 Sat 6:45 5:04 (sunset same as Fri) Sun 6:46 5:03 I knew the days get shorter in early winter. I’d never noticed it was a minute a day. ---
