Didn’t the whole bare look come about because of the Brazilain style bikinis? Those are so small that a full trim is needed to wear them. Since VERY few American women wear that style swimsuit, I expect there isn’t much need for a full wax off trim.

It just so happens that I was perusing the November issue of _Penthouse_ and was surprised to se on p. 147 a photograph featuring a model with quite a nice delta. I don’t know who she is though.

I think the overly-groomed/shaved look is just weird. No judgment against the women who do it, I just don’t find it aesthetically pleasing. But I’m also not very hairy–never have to clean up to wear a bathing suit, and I can get by with shaving my legs about once per week.

I love body hair on men. The absolute sexiest thing is a little chest hair poking out of a v-neck shirt. It’s masculine. Rowr.

And guys who shave down there? Um, ouch. And yikes. I’d be totally turned off by a guy who didn’t have pubes.

I’m a little confused by the concept of shaving down there. Maybe it’s just because I have coarser hair, but shaving = stubble! And that is NOT something I want in that area of my body. It’s waxed or slightly trimmed for me, but no shaving.

Don’t worry man, you aren’t alone. I’m 28 and still can’t come close to growing a beard. I remember when my friends started getting them at 15 or so, thinking “surely by the time I’m 18.” Then it turned into 21, then 25, then 28. Now I’ve just given up. But in a way it helps me feel young. I mean, how old can I be if I STILL haven’t finished puberty.

I was always under the impression that the purpose of genital and armpit hair was to hold in the “musty” odors that were once apparently useful, or a turn-on, or something to early humans. Operating on that assumption, pubic hair, to me, is an annoying evolutionary left-over, like wisdom teeth, that is best gotten rid of.

Looking at it less intellectually, I will admit that I prefer it to look bald, but that’s not really why I want it shaved. What it comes down to is a matter of courtesy, more than anything. If you like someone enough to have sex with them, do you really want to subject them to something that is unpleasant or uncomfortable? I manscape anyway, but if it were fairly well known that pubes made it unpleasant for women to do their work down there, I would trim for that reason alone.

Wait a minute… isn’t this fairly well-established?

Is there some dark corner of the world where a fellow that keeps a hedgehog in his shorts won’t be regularly met with comments about the wildness of the yard?

I don’t miss the chafed nose that I took for granted in the eighties, and it seems like basic courtesy to clean up that area if you expect anyone to keep their face near it for any length of time.

Are those the Wedgies-R-Us costumes with the leg holes that go 2/3 of the way to the poor gal’s armpits? NOT sexy!

Actually, that’s kind of self-fulfilling…

Well, it’s not like I talk about body hair with my fellow men, but the only body hair groomers I know of are fashion models, porn actors, swimmers, and gay guys. A bunch of us laughed our asses off when we realized that a non-gay member of our group was waxing between and around his eyebrows.

In fact, most of the gay guys I know do their eyebrows quite obviously. Strangely enough, one of these guys has a habit of exposing himself in public, and several of us became the unwilling owners of the information that he does not, in fact, groom his pubes.

I’ve never been with anyone who manscaped, but I’d appreciate it if he did. I don’t expect a man to wax, but a little bit of maintenance goes a long way. 🆒
