Dude, can’t believe I forgot to post **Qadcop**. I guess I just assumed I was seconding him above–of COURSE he’s one of our resident experts! Even off the board, like when I’m watching Orange is the New Black, I find myself wondering what his opinions are. What about **Gigobuster** on climate issues? Definitely appreciate him, as well as **Darwin’s Finch**. ---

I like to hear from **jsgoddess** on feminist issues because she’s a goddamn warrior who will fuck a misogynist up. **Manda Jo** always gives wicked good advice. \*\*Nava \*\*is super validating. **Vinyl Turnip** is still the funniest poster here. **elucidator** always has something interesting to say. For legal matters, I always like **Northern Piper** ’s contributions; as well as those of **Muffin** and **Malthus**. When it comes to aviation, **JohnnyLA** , **Richard Pearse** , and **LSLGuy** are always worth a read. And **Leaffan** always has something interesting to say, while **Bryan Ekers** somehow manages to lighten the mood when threads get a little heavy. ---

First and foremost, **WordMan**. Encyclopedic knowledge of music and guitars. He’s what used to be called a really cool head. Just an all around nice guy who’s happy to share his knowledge and eager to absorb knowledge from others. Cool and diplomatic, except on those exceedingly rare occasions where relentless provocation gets to him and he winds up having to report himself. 😉 And of course, **Qadgop**. Another cool head. Always willing to give a helpful medical opinion if asked. Tolerant, forgiving and nonjudgmental. Like **WordMan** , a really all-around great guy. **Shodan**. Even though he and I aren’t always in agreement, we often are, and I appreciate both his posts and his sense of humor. And **Bricker** , on just about anything he cares to post. Great at leaving emotion out of it and responding to the central issues without getting bogged down in personalities. Usually. **Banquet Bear** , an all-around good guy. **Spice Weasel** , just because. Over the years I’ve become not the favorite poster of the people mentioned below, but I enjoy and learn from their posts anyway and I believe they deserve honorable mention. **silenus** , for just about any insight on how to live a full, enjoyable and well-equipped life. Whether it be booze, knives, food or whatever, to learn from **silenus** is to live a fuller and more enjoyable life. **Running Coach** , for great info on bicycling. **monstro** , smart, thoughtful and (she’ll probably hate me for this) sweet. A gentle soul with good insights. She often causes me to look at things in a different way than I did before. **Miller** , smart, witty, and, although I haven’t always thought so, an excellent mod. Fully capable of setting aside personal feelings in fulfilling his moderly [sic] duties. I’m sure others will come to mind but it’s late and I need to call it a night. I may post more in the future. ---

Man, I should be away, working on a deadline more often! Thanks for kind words directed my way, and I share the feelings of folks about many, many of the folks cited. What’s interesting to me is that the folks getting mentions _come here for the discussion_. “Here’s what I know / have observed; where can folks take that?” Lots of opinions along the way - few of us are shy that way 😉 - but within the context of the fact that the conversation is the thing. Great folks - I just wish posting volumes didn’t feel like they were declining so much. ---

**CalMeacham** and **Dr Drake** on “mythology & folksy stuff”. Anybody who agrees with me 😉 on Spanish. On legal discussions, I always like it when we get contributions from non-US posters, lawyers or not. Law is kind of “applied humanities”: legal systems are produced by an accumulation of history, politics, and whatever the heck human creativity and human stupidity happened to come up with as different social problems came up. Their diversity and similarities are something that would drive me nuts if I had to deal with them on a professional basis but very interesting from the peanut gallery. **monstro** and **Spice Weasel** and **Anaamika** and **WhyNot** , because. I like it when both **monstro** and **youwiththeface** are part of a conversation. ---
