> Why even try to rebuild or land a superstar anymore? As long as they can milk irrational hatred, they’re set for the next 5, 10 years, easily. Mavericks? They should be thanking the _Clippers_ for setting such a fine example. Cut corners! Mix and match and patch and cobble! Remain stuck in lottery purgatory for the indefinite future! What does it matter? Satisfaction still guaranteed.

I’m afraid you’re misreading the situation in Cleveland DKW. Cavaliers’ season ticket sales were strong in 2010-11 because there was the expectation that James would be back and that the team would be a contender. While that didn’t happen, the tickets had been already sold so the team didn’t lose much money. Going into the 2011-12 season ticket -and disregarding any lockout/strike issues - Cavalier ticket sales WILL decrease unless the team takes positive steps to improve.

Yeah, unfortunately for the Cavs, this might be the worst stock of players in a draft in recent memory. When Kyrie Irving (who ended up being an albatross on a good Duke team) is the probable #1 pick, the pickings are indeed slim.
