**Guin** - some jokes pass on to the other side, way past the point where they’re boring and tired. They gain a new, almost transcendental life, and as with ‘My cat’s breath smells like cat food,’ hamsters, and ‘the winter of missed content’, I feel we’re in close proximity of a new SDMB lore being born. Imahine that it would be about 1920’s… ---

At least he didn’t leave any archaic sticky threads laying around when he quit. I’m wondering if we’ll ever get rid of that Potter sticky. I have been modded by Euty lately though. It’s the weirdest thing seeing him with less posts and newer registration date then myself. ---

Ok, I’m getting more than just a little sick of this shit! I have seen this -1920’s style “Death Ray”- thing, day in and day out since its mistaken triple post and subsequent dog pile. Jeebus cripes you pahyepole! Where the hell is your sense of class! You all just want to go ahead and start another dang fool _tradition \* around here that stinks worse then the “Hi Opal” infection? Why cant you all be like \*\* ME_\* and show a little bit of restraint? NOT ONE TIME (except for above) have I ever posted the dreaded “1920’s” perpetual pain in the ass, new tradition - because I knew that soon enough, only \*newbies \* and _attention mongers_, on the SDMB would be posting it, and I for one would _never_ want to be mistaken as such. So why’s everyone ragging on **Homer** regarding the phrase “When Manhattan quit?” His usage is perfectly correct: **to quit** _v.i._ To cease, desist from, or leave an activity, job, habit, or SDMB moderating. _past_ **quit** \*p.p. \ ***quit**. The word **quitted** does exist but only in the sense of physically leaving a place, as in “Following a court order, they quitted the premises”. ---
