I live in a Northern city where the suffering was deep during Thatcher’s term of office. There is a longstanding party planned for a park very near the centre. That’s where I’ll be. ---

I’m unlikely to vote for a Republican President in my lifetime as the party has simply traveled beyond the bounds of reason and even tradition. I’d consider voting for a Thatcher, although I suspect the SDP would be more likely to receive my support. And of course less revolutionary Tories would also receive my consideration, as would moderate leaders of Labour. I am a member of the far left fringe of the American politico-media spectrum. ---

The new US health care system, which is based on the system that was implemented in Massachusetts (which I have personal experience of) is not universal. Effectively, it forces people to either buy health insurance or pay a fine. That is not universal, nor is it health care. It is an insurance industry scam. ---

Margaret Thatcher was the last brilliant English leader. Probably the last one the Brits will ever have, considering the sorry state of those miserable isles. I’ll save my champagne for when the Danish equivalent of the stupid airhead Jimmy Carter dies. Perhaps I’ll throw in a little party too when good old Jimbo dies as well, just because he’s such a gigantic fuckup. Or if Obama decides to go belly up. That’d be great as well. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch Obama by his toe. ---
