# When should I opine on what people want to eat?

To the other side, I was surprised at the number of people who told me that alcohol couldn’t possibly taste [bitter to me](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/never-been-to-costco-what-huge-businesses-experiences-have-you-foregone/1020112/54) because it didn’t taste bitter to them. One person even opined that this was a _belief_ of mine, lol.
