# When there was virtually no moderation here

A [perusal](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/forumdisplay.php?f=3&pp=150&sort=dateline&order=asc&daysprune=-1&page=237) through GQ confirms my memory. It appears that no threads were started in that forum between 7 December 2001 and late in the evening (North America EST) on 10 March 2002. Here is what might be the first thread in the forum after the board’s return to service:

As I recall, Cafe Society was a relatively new forum at the time of the crash, and one of the posts lost was one in that forum I’d written speculating on the in-world political implications of events in the soon-to-be-released Star Trek Nemesis film.
