When was the last time that not a drop of rain fell on any location on the 48 coterminous United States in a 24-hour period? Has it ever happened?

Also, when was the last time there was a measurable snowfall (excluding flurries) in Orlando?

Doesn’t mention Orlando, but this may be of interest:

> Snow in Florida is a rare occurrence. During the Great Blizzard of 1899, Florida experienced blizzard conditions; the Tampa Bay area had “gulf-effect” snow, similar to lake-effect snow in the Great Lakes region. During the 1899 blizzard was the only time the temperature in Florida is known to have fallen below 0 degrees Fahrenheit (−18 °C). **The most widespread snowfall in Florida history occurred on January 19, 1977, when snow fell over much of the state, as far south as Homestead.** Snow flurries fell on Miami Beach for the only time in recorded history. A hard freeze in 2003 brought “ocean-effect” snow flurries to the Atlantic coast as far south as Cape Canaveral.

IIRC, Homestead, FL is in the Miami metro area … so presumably Orlando got legit snowfall, as well.

Yeah, 1977 was a great year to be a kid. 😃 I actually got to play in some of that snow (south of Orlando.)
