You’re probably only remembering that one because he confessed with that one, and said that he was sure that everyone was shocked that such a prominent, upstanding member of the community would be behind the sock epidemic. To which everyone immediately replied “Who the heck are you?”. But I don’t think he had any connection to the WoMC. I’m pretty sure that was a different loser. ---
