# When you first saw ROTJ, did you assume the Ewoks ate the Storm Troopers they defeated?

The Ewoks weren’t cannibals until the Alliance Propaganda Minister (C3PO) put it into their heads that the proper way to ally yourself with the rebels is to consume their enemies just as the Sarlak did near the end of Threepeo’s narrative.

They weren’t cannibals then either. Ewoks eating ewoks would be cannibalism. Ewoks eating the Empire’s finest is just the circle of life.

I mean, maybe? I was six when the movie came out so I don’t have clear memories of viewing it. But I do know I found the Ewoks scary af so it’s possible I’d picked up on the implication to a degree.
