And you can blame the lack of condiments on the counter on people who treat McDonalds as a food shelf. When places put packets of ketchup, mustard, salt, BBQ sauce, salad dressing, etc out for people to choose from, some people take a few - and then have ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, etc at home. If your margins are pretty good, this isn’t a big deal (Famous Dave’s around here is pretty generous on sauces to take home - but then the meal is pretty expensive), when your margins are those of a McDonald’s franchisee - someone snagging an extra honey mustard gets expensive. ---
