BTW: How many people here are old enough to remember the bicentennial (1976) issue coins? Those have disappeared due to collecter’s value.

Isn’t it more likely they disappeared due to only being produced over the span of two years while the total quarter population draws from roughly the last 50 years?

There are a little over 1.6 billion bicentennial quarters out there.

Roughly the same number of “Virginia” quarters were minted in 2000

I don’t know about “disappeared,” but they are relatively rare now. I get a bicentennial quarter (with the drummer on the reverse) back as change maybe a couple of times a year.
