i think you see it a lot on the net, in a chat room i go to they go through these “spurts” where all sorts of annoying jerks, cretins and imbiciles show up, then it sort of wanes for awhile before cresting yet again. i don’t know what causes it, maybe they all belong to a club and share links. ---

Im a newbie to, and so I’m not sure if Im allowd to have any type of input into this thread, but Id agree completely with the whole ‘schools out’ theory. A lot of people who get banned from all sorts of message boards and chat rooms or wherever on the net are mainly kids looking for kicks. That could be me calling the kettle black though as I consider myself to still be a kid… and yea Ive got in trouble in here… Buffy spoilers in an angel thread :smack: Hopefully now at least Im getting better at the whole thing:) but I think the school thing is spot on! ---

I apologise if bumping this thread was a bad thing to do (‘if’) [This](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/announcement.php?s=&forumid=12) recent announcement clears up what happened earlier in this thread (strange disappearance. So I am not going insane afterall, thanks **Ed Zotti** ) As someone who frequented a newsgroup plagued by a particularly annoying troll I know how much of a problem they can be. If it gets any worse here I think we need to do as asked in the link. Oh and it confirms my suspicion that it is a ‘sudden’ problem and not part of ‘the territory’ 🙂 ---

I’m assuming the same way I did. I was at a party getting drunk, when I found I needed to use the facilities. The Straight Dope was the reading material on the back of the john. I picked it up and flipped through it, then borrowed it and joined the site a few days later. ---
