Maybe my searching skills just suck but how come I can’t find any threads about the 9/11 incident on the SDMB that were started on or just after 9/11/01? I searched for threads from “a year ago” and “older” with key words like “trade + tower”,“tower + plane”,“trade + center” and came up with nothing. The closest thread was from May 2002. I can’t believe no one was doping on this subject when it happened? So where are the September 2001 threads? ---

Man, that sucks. I would have loved to read people’s reactions the day of or the day after and all the speculation of what happened or what was going on. ---

It’s a pity. I did read a thread that was “live”, so to speak - Dopers posting as information became available. It made me cry a little, and also made me wish I had the Dope back then. ---

Wow. Reading that thread (even though I wasn’t around then) brings back memories. I was in high school then and just…wow. I remember that whole day, nothing was accomplished, we did no schoolwork, we just watched the news all day, scared shitless and feeling like crap because we were happy we were so far away from it. ~Tasha ---

I’ve never seen that thread before. I always thought one of the most amazing things about 9/11 is how the planes were grounded so quickly. It is still heartwarming to see the thread about NYC Dopers checking in, and how worried y’all were about us. Thanks! ---
