I remember a SD column years ago which pondered where the dead pigeons all were. That made me think, many years later (I’m slow sometimes), how come I’ve never seen a baby, or even youngish, pigeon? By the time I see them they’re all the same size. Where are the pigeon nests and day-care centers? ---

You know, you don’t have to hit the “return” key at the end of each line in the composition window. This is a pretty bright program, and your deathless, immortal prose will word-wrap properly. ## That being said, Cecil himself said that baby pigeons stay at home until they are old enough to vote. How often do you see any baby birds? Most are like the pigeons and don’t leave the nest until they are pretty much the size and shape of the adults. I see some babies knocked out of nests by high winds - a baby robin - but they usually can’t fly. I’ve seen a couple of baby blue jay, tail too short to be adults. These are accidents. * * * Oh, I’m gonna keep using these #%@&\* codes 'til I get 'em right.
