Where are the cicadas?

Well, you claim to live in Pittsburgh, but your location is listed on the board as being"fluidic space." Maybe the cicadas just couldn’t find you.

For me, the cicada question has always been: why 17 years? Do they have a thing for primes or something?

What, not “Waiter, there’s a giant fly in my soup”?

Huh.

I was wondering where they were myself. Evidently, they don’t live this far south?

 That’s funny.

Aaaaand they’re pretty much gone.
No more hideous, creepy buzzing that’s louder than a jet, no more smashed cicada corpses on the windshield, no more cleaning up cicada-filled dog barf.
You can see where they’ve laid their eggs in the trees by the dead bits - the females chew into the branches and lay the eggs, and the leaves die. You can see small clusters of dead leaves in trees everywhere.
Good riddance!
