After the burnt popcorn thread of a few weeks ago, I’ve been cuckoo for corn. Corn Nuts, specifically. But I can’t find any. Anywhere. My (ahem) nut lust is driving me to distraction! It’s a conspiracy, dammit. ---

They have them here all over in stores. About 5 different flavors too. Ranch, BBQ, Cheddar, regular…etc. How many stores did you try? ---

Hmm, well, in ours they’re always in the chip aisle. However in one store (a much smaller one, not really a grocery store, but more like a drugstore) they’re in the cookie and cracker aisle. ---

Stores normaly have them in the same area as sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Jerky and nuts are in the same area alot of times. ---

According to what I just looked up, you can get an eight-ounce bag for a $1.99, plus shipping. That seems pretty good to me. My dad loves corn nuts and I think they’re hard to find where I live as well in large quantities. They also tend to me much more expensive. Sorry, our APO service is out for outgoing until next week due to the last hurricane. When it gets back up, you have a pack of Senor Maiz super ginormous corn-nuts (the corniest corn, according to the package) original flavor and a pack of inside-out popcorn “canchitas saladas” on the way; as does \* swampbear[i/]. Alternatively, come down to Peru, where all the snacks are based on corn. ---

Success! Well, mostly. I got the last bag of Corn Nuts in the state of Ohio! Yay! I hope I’m exaggerating. But it took three more stops to find 'em. I asked stockboys and cashiers and I tell ya. Corn Nuts must be some sort of funky exotic food around here, because the number of blank stares I got should be limited to people asking about squid toes in mustard or something. 4 ounces of corny heaven. I wonder how long these will last? Oh, and at Kroger, they were in the… candy aisle. I have no explanation. ---

What is a corn nut? I’ve seen it mentioned in another thread and now I’m very curious if we have them just names something different. It can’t be the corn bits that did’nt pop when making popcorn, cause they are way too hard? ---
