Where can find a set of ATV/Quad-sized tank tracks with chassis? I’ve scoured the internet with no luck…

I want to build a pedal-powered tank-bike for [Burning Man](http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=Burning%20Man%20bikes&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi).

You’re looking for [skid steer crawler treads](http://business.listings.ebay.com/Parts-Parts-Machines_Wheels-Tires-Tracks_W0QQfclZ3QQsacatZ41508QQsocmdZListingItemList). They are kinda pricey, seems like. These are the size that fit a Bobcat, not sure if you are going to find any smaller, I can’t find those tiny little 6" backhoes with crawler treads, they might be smaller.

[Are these what you’re looking for?](http://www.litefootatv.com/)

Maybe not, seeing as it’d be pretty darn hard to figure out a way to pedal-power 'em.

Hey yea, those are great sources. Thank you both for those. I think it will be pretty easy to set those up for pedal power. All it will take is some basic math, welding, gears and chains.

With the right gear ratios you could probably pedal-power it. You’d travel at a snail’s pace though.

And $$$$$$$, I’ll bet.

If you do create such a vehicle, we’ve gotta see some pics, kthx.

Yes, $$$$ for sure. I gather that a set of the atv tracks is around $4000(!).

But ideally, I would prefer a standard set of tank-style tracks over four individual tracks.

The same company makes a straight set of trailer tracks that are more my style. 800 lbs. for the short set, 1,300 lbs. for the long set. Yikes. So, yea, I won’t be moving very fast. But at Burning Man, who cares?

And if I do build a pedal-powered tank bike, you can be sure I’ll put up some pics. In fact, I’m sure I’ll be picking the brains of my fellow dopers on a daily basis…

I’ve seen some snow blowers that used rubber tank like treads. \<googles\>
