I’ve been searching for ages. Is there no site other than bloody [bookrags.com](http://bookrags.com) (charges you) that has this essay? It’s only around 600 words, so I can’t imagine the internet is completely devoid of the work. Any help? ---

I may be wrong, but I don’t think Kafka has ever published a critical essay on Homer. He did, however, write a short story - and I think this is probably the ‘essay’ listed on bookrags - called ‘The Silence of the Sirens’ about the encounter from _The Odyssey_. It’s available [here](http://www.bradcolbourne.com/silence.txt). You may also want to check out [The Truth about Sancho Panza](http://www.endeneu.com/kafka/sanchopanza.html). ---
