I would like to be able to have a search box on a website. I’d rather not do google’s branded search–I don’t want ANY other company’s branding. I have Matt’s Script Archive simplesearch script running, but it returns tons of inappropriate hits. I want a search that has some sort of “best results” ranking ability based on frequency of the word occuring or whatever.

I can set up and (slightly) modify simple perl, php and asp scripts, but would rather not mess around too much with databases. The site is small so a spider-based search would probably work.

Does anyone know of a search I can get that will work for me? Less, than, say, $100?

Thanks!
