# Where can I get a company/ Government report?

For a friend at university. She’s studying for a masters in translation skills and needs to get hold of a large report to translate. Anywhere one can be picked up? I know companies produce reports for shareholders, are they freely available to the general public anywhere in the UK? Does the government make new policies or laws freely available to everyone?

Official company reports for US corporations are online in the [EDGAR database](http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml). Just pick a company and download its annual report (Here’s the annual report for [Disney](http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/29082/0000898430-95-002664.txt))

If you specifically want a UK report, any company listed on the London Stock Exchange will send you a copy of its annual report for free. Just ring and ask.

You can also get the annual reports from many public companies on their Web sites.
