I’ve a hankering for some new screen savers, but just about everywhere I go looking on the web has nothing but trash. Where would Dopers recommend for downloading some decent Windows screensavers?

What I’m wanting is a reasonably sized, free screensaver with an interesting twist, proper functionality and proper use of locking.

What I’m **not** looking for, and what seems to be unavoidable on most download sites, is;

- screensavers that don’t “save” your screen at all. Basically they are just pointless applications that take over your computer when it’s idle, keeping your monitor blazing at full power.

- bloatware screensavers. 20MB monsters that take 1 minute to load and unload and steal all your memory in the process.

- dumb advert screensavers, like “ComputSolutions, Kansas for all your middleware needs!” or “Bruce Willis’ latest movie!”

- spyware infested bait.

- boring slideshow screensavers of cute cats, flowers, lakeside meditations, etc. etc.

- screensavers that do little but make a racket.

- screensavers that pretend they’re free, but have massive “buy me” banners that make them unusable.
