I need to ship some motorcycle parts across country. I need a small crate (2x2x3, or so) are there companies that sell crates? any ideas what industries would have crates that size that would maybe donate one to my cause? thanks ---

The UPS store, formerly Mail Boxes Etc. will solve your problem for a price. The big box warehouse sells lumber, screws, etc. for making a custom crate. Be sure all those parts are well braced/tied down/cushioned/etc. Used lumber OK depending… Check with the common carrier. UPS, or truck line for their requirements, costs. ---

Try going to places that would be receiving strong crates - art galleries would get stuff like small sculptures in them, or even dare I say, motorcycle shops. Hunt around, and you’ll probably find someone that’d be glad to get rid of one. ---

If there’s a freight shipping company in town, try them. We had something shipped from Hong Kong once, and when my husband went to pick it up at the shipper, he needed to get the items out of the crate so they’d fit in the car. Someone walked up to him while he was dismantling the crate and asked if he could have it, so the hub gave it to him. Easy and free.
