I see this all the time in the NY Metro area, and it really blows my mind. I don’t work in the news business at all, but you’d think that somewhere along the line someone would make sure that place names are pronounced correctly. And this happens even with well experienced reporters.
I figure if I know how it’s pronounced, they should also!
