It has occured to me that with the large population of pigeons in the city, I’ve never seen a dead pigeon? You would think the ones in the city would be plopping down left and right, and yet ive never seen one. Do they really live that long? Or do they know their time has come and plop down in a pigeon graveyard? (Located a few paces east of the elephant graveyard) - P. K. \ ---

Just for the record I live in a fairly large city, not Chicago or New York large but well over half a million as well as a large pigeon population. And I see dead pigeons all the time. Mostly smashed into the road, flattened into the cement. Occasinally I see some laying dead on the sidewalk. Over where I catch the #6 bus to school there’s a lady who feeds birds which come in hordes. I’ve seen a few dead ones there. So I say not only do the forces of nature work quickly to eliminate the bird carcases but also if you don’t see them you’re not being as observant as you can be. ---

well i dont go into the nooks and cranies of the cities, so i guess your right- im probobly missing them. But one question- if you see lots of dead pigeons by the old lady, WHAT THE HELL IS SHE FEEDING THEM??? PIGEON KILLER!!! -P.K. ---

Probably if she’s feeding them near the bus stop they’re just all congragating to eat and while they’re not looking getting smacked by the bus. ---

ah-ah-ah, I said a few. And you ever see those bird feeding swarms? Maybe she accidentily stepped on them? Can’t say as I care though, flying rats is what they are. Now about a decade ago somebody did leave out a lot of poisoned birdseed that ended up killing **thousands** of pigeons over by the pineapple plant where they were a big problem. Bodies everywhere. Not sure they ever solved the case, and it was a criminal offence. Hey, wasn’t there also that homeless guy who was killing and eating pigeons in Trafalgar Sq.? They were just too trusting, he reached out and broke their little necks. You know, this question raises an interesting question. Statistically how many pigeons die per day in New York City? You could get that, divide it by area and get # of dead pigeons per day per city block. Be an interesting fact to know. ---
