# Where Do You Go to Hear Some Blues?

I go to [Saxophone](http://www.saxophonepub.com/) here in Bangkok, open 25 years now. Spent an enjoyable evening there last night (Saturday night).

I haven’t been out to see a band in about a decade, ☹ but when I lived in Pittsburgh there was a little bar far down on East Carson street called, “Excuses”. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the owners did a decent job inside, in that it had a nice bar with a couple dozen beers on tap, a place for a band to set up, and a primo grill that offered up some REALLY good food, from an admittedly limited menu. A really nice place for folks that liked beer, grilled food/hot wings and blues music.

Here’s a couple of women that used to appear there, though not together. (Note: That’s not “Excuses”)

Shari was one of my favorite local performers.

Norm & Glenn used to play there as well, with their respective bands.

  
Spent some time in a Bridgeville bar whose name I don’t recall, watching Chizmo Charles & The Mystic Knights of the Sea. Great, great fun.
