Very first question - can someone either give a list of every moderator/administrator/anything else similar OR explain how to get them? I’m aware of the usual way of getting them through vbulletin as a user list but that doesn’t seem to work here cause I don’t see it.

Second question - I’d like to post a “choose your favourite X moderators” thread… haven’t decided on X but I think it’ll be a number between 3 and 5. It should be a thread for _entirely positive sentiments_ so shouldn’t be problematic; I would like to put in IMHO - is that alright? And if not, can I put it in ATMB? And if not - where does it go?

For the first, if you go to each of the forums individually from the main page and scroll to the bottom, there’s a list of moderators on the right.

For the second, IMHO sounds right.

You can get a list of mods by going to the main forum page, scrolling down, and looking for the forum leaders link. All the mods with active forum assignments are listed, so one or two ( **Lynn Bodoni** and perhaps **xash** ) aren’t listed. I think any poll about the mods would go in ATMB. And there’s no such thing as a thread for “entirely positive sentiments.” If you post a positive opinion of something, other people have the opportunity to respond in the negative if they want. This thread wouldn’t turn out the way you seem to think it would.

Thanks, I got this list:

TubaDiva, Gfactor
Rico, C K Dexter Haven, TubaDiva
TubaDiva, C K Dexter Haven
Colibri, samclem, Gfactor, Gary “Wombat” Robson
Gaudere, Marley23, tomndebb
Marley23, TubaDiva, twickster, tomndebb
Marley23, twickster, Ellen Cherry, Gukumatz
Gukumatz, Idle Thoughts, RickJay
Ellen Cherry, Gukumatz, Idle Thoughts
twickster, Ellen Cherry, Idle Thoughts
Gary “Wombat” Robson, Rico
Miller, Gfactor
Ed Zotti, TubaDiva, RickJay

That doesn’t seem everyone to me cause I know that Lynn Bodoni is a moderator?

Edit: Marley - do you think that would be a bad idea then? I was going to vote for you, you know! 😉

Edit: I see no reason that a thread couldn’t be only for positive sentiments if it was outside of the pit cause it’s against the rules to criticse mods.

Edit3: This has nothing to do with this thread at all but why are the modeators above not listed in any particular order? Doesn’t seem to be by either albhabet or indeed any well ordering scheme.

They’re sorted by height.

(for simplest example, which I just noticed now rather than the five people thing I saw at first, according to the thing above, in the second line Tubadiva \< C K Dexter Haven, but in the third line Tubadiva \> C K Dexter Haven)

You want to click [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showgroups.php).

Like **Marley** said, it’s on the board index (AKA, the page you’re on when you see all the forums listed) and then at the very bottom, there’s a link called “View Forum Leaders”.
That will lead you to the above link.

ETA: There are a few staff members who aren’t on the list, but I’m pretty sure it’s just because they don’t have any specifically assigned forums (like **LynnBodoni** and **jdavis** )

I think \*\*Marley’s \*\*point is that, since it wouldn’t be \*enforced \*to be positive only, it likely wouldn’t be positive only.

I don’t believe it’s against the rules to criticize mods. I see it happen fairly regularly.

It’s not against the rules to criticize the mods. That’s one of the uses of ATMB. And in a thread like that, both positive and negative comments are allowed. If you start an ATMB thread saying you like a board feature, other people can say they hate it. If you say you hated some piece of moderation, other people can say they approve.

**jdavis** is tech and should probably not be subjected to the usual hooliganism that Mods experience.
