People who interrupt when other people are talking to them. It irritates me even when it’s not me they’re talking to. ---

People who don’t hold the door open for others, it’s only an extra 5 seconds, I mean come on people. People who smoke when the place they are in is clearly designated “No Smoking” Queue jumpers, any queue jumpers. People who accost you on the stree to sell you things or convert you to religions. The ignorant, intollerant or other suchlike cretins. ---

I can get with your napkin gripe, but i’ve never understood the obsession with keeping elbows off the table. It’s always seemed to me to be an archaism that serves no useful purpose except to give some people the opportunity to feel superior. ---

I was afraid I was becoming an old fuddy-duddy and that the rules had changed. Hat wearing in restaurants doesn’t fall into the category of intrusive rudeness (i.e. your hat doesn’t blow smoke in my face or cut me off at the light), but it still bugs the piss out of me. Didn’t your dad tell you that polite people take their hats off inside? Mine did. And that goes for hat-wearers at Applebee’s and Chili’s too! Fuddy-duddyhood, here I come! ---

If your [husband/wife/daughter/son/other] is not back from picking up “just one more item” by the time the cashier at the grocery store finishes ringing you up, TOO BAD!!! The whole line has better things to do than to wait around for you. How can so many people possibly think this is acceptable?! ---

Talking and laughing loudly in public, particularly in restaurants. There is nothing that goes through me faster than a paroxysm of laughter while I’m eating. ---

I work in a restaurant. And I hate it when someone chooses to blow their nose at the dinner table. Take your ass to the bathroom and do it there. Not at the dinner table with other diners in your general location. It is so rude and so not appetizing at all. ---

I hatehatehate drivers who fucking _come to a stop_ in the EZpass lane! They defeat the whole purpose of EZPass! Gah! Shooting them shouldn’t be a crime. ---

I don’t know if this counts as an etiquette issue, but I was waiting in the Timmies parking lot the other day for someone, and this couple pulled up and parked diagonally accross two handicapped parking spaces and let out a 20-ish year old fellow who looked pretty unhandicapped. So my peeve is people who take up 2 parking spaces, especially handicap spaces (especially if they don’t need them) ---

People who chew with their mouths open. This applies to food or gum, but mostly food. Also, people who will just sit there and sniffle instead of blowing their noses. ---
