Well, sometimes parents go shopping with the kid right after picking him or her up from daycare or preschool.
I have paid for more empty packages than I care to admit. I find nothing wrong with drinking a soda while shopping as long as I pay for it at the register.
I just realized, however, that by allowing that behavior, the stores have a more difficult time policing what’s being eaten and not paid for. If it were a “no-no” to eat or drink while shopping, then it would be easier to spot the thieves.
I, too, am amazed at the audacity of people that somehow justify stealing a candy bar or a garage sale item. I seriously don’t understand that one.
Let’s not forget about the employees who think it’s okay to graze the store, especially the late shifters and stockers. I remember working at Krogers in high school…how many “accidents” some of the guys had which resulted in them devouring the damaged merchandise.
I won’t even get into the deli workers.
