(Putting this into ATMB, since the missing one is a main source of technical information) Where has **Arnold Winkelried** disappeared to as of lately? He’s always been a source of humorous comments, and I miss his posting style. Just wondering… ---

Hmm, you’re right. I just did a search, and he’s only [posted](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174152) [twice](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=171914) in the last month. I dunno. I don’t think he and I are close enough for me to call him **Noodles** , but if we were, I’d call him that and then put a little grinny face and continue my comments. I bet that would lure him out of lurkerdom. I’m sure he hasn’t abandoned the boards. He’ll be back in due course. ‘Administrator’ isn’t something you can just resign from, you know. 😉 ---

Yes, Comments seems to currently be operating without moderator review. I’ve seen insults thrown and not be commented on, threads devolve into debates and run on endlessly, and other minor infractions. What’s the deal? ---

I wouldn’t say that CoCC hasn’t been moderated, just perhaps been a little looser than usual, primarily the thread about Cecil’s comments on “damnfool war”… which is borderline whether to keep in CoCC or move to Great Debates or what, so the decision has been to permit a little more latitude than CoCC would normally allow. ---

Well, that was more of a sentence than a curse. It would be weird to hear judges handing down sentences saying, “I hereby curse you to 50 hours of community service.” ---
