I know he was posting frequently about the his joy on taking a vacation back in January, and the trials and tribulations of closing his business down and retiring in the month prior to that. I’m seriously hoping that he decided to make the most of the vacation by eating and drinking in Sint Maarten and having a chance to disconnect for a while. Considering the months since his last post in mid January, I wouldn’t blame him one tiny bit. But he also mentioned (In the Death: Missed it by that much thread) some cardiac issues that had been resolved, so I agree with the worries. I’m going to continue to hope that between retirement, vacations, good weed and booze, that he’s taking a break from our drama and the reminders for the world for a little while, and then will come back refreshed. 🤞 ---

I miss kayaker. He was always very grounded. It’s possible he’s just staying away because he doesn’t want to deal with us and the reflection of all that’s going on in the outside world right now. ---

Grounded? I’d more likely say he was high flying. But he did present a reasonable way of thinking. He talked about his GF often. I know they liked going to the islands a few times a year. I’m hoping retirement has them on the beach and unplugged. ---

I just wanted to mention that I was thinking of @kayaker again, and looked at his public profile (no, no super secret Mod powers) and it currently says “Seen April 15”, which is just a week ago. Last post of course was January. So that’s cause for cautious optimism! I hope he’s just not ready to deal with all of us insane folk or try to get caught up on countless overflowing threads (advice, if you said all you think you need to say, just close it and let it go, I’ve done that for threads I let get away from me!). So he figured, time enough for all that later… and hopefully went back to enjoying his retirement/vacation/mellow. I mean, I can think of nefarious or tragic reasons, but I’ll take a bit of hope if I can manage! ---
