Back in the days before I discovered message boards, I used to frequent Yahoo chat rooms. Those had a shitty signal to noise ratio back in about 1999, and it got worse over the next couple of years. But I persevered. I checked them out a few months ago, and it was jaw-dropping. I’m not sure what language they’re even speaking in there. It’s not even 1337zors. It’s just monkey chatter. So Yahoo has my vote. ---

Another vote for Youtube. It’s amazing that stupid comments show up on videos you’d never expect it with. I think Youtube should have some kind of option in your profile where you can hide all comments, just so you don’t have to look at that shit. ---

Wow. I’d never heard of 4chan, so I googled it and checked it out. Why do people spend time there? Especially the /b/ thing? Don’t they realize they’re going to die someday and they only get ONE August 2, 2007? Is this the best way they know of to use that day? It plunges me into existential despair. Also, I saw a picture of a prolapsed rectum. ---

People, YouTube is _average_. It’s the utterly average cross section of the population. Take a deep look because this is what average looks like. The bots would enter in twos and threes and have fixed conversations with each other, casually dropping in links to said sites. Occasionally some deluded individual would drop by and try to pick up **hot\_coed\_teen\_86** , but otherwise, no human content at all as far as I could tell. ---

I’m going to have to give Yahoo! Financial Message Boards a plug here. On a series of boards theoretically designated to discusssing a particular Stock symbol, the level of hatred, vengance, stupidity, raw ignorance, and concentrated venomous ignorance is astonishing. Probably doesn’t rank with 4chan in raw vitriol, but on the Yahoo! boards, those people are supposedly stock-purchasing investors. Your finances are expsed to crap-flingers of that caliber?! It’s astonishing that _every_ year _hasn’t_ been 1929.
