You took the time to accuse someone else of making a trivial error (being off by two years on when Reagan spoke of the AIDS epidemic), so apparently you think pointing out errors is important. Edit conflicts have happened before, and I was thinking this was the case as well. While I personally don’t believe that the practice of anal sodomy contributes anything good to society, I’m not against it as long as it’s between two consenting adults (except if its prostitution as I said earlier). That being said, it’s not fair to blame Christians for the AIDS crisis; yes, at times some people on the Christian right made intemperate statements about God’s wrath and all that, but most of them were genuinely sympathetic to the plight of those suffering from this horrible disease. That’s why Reagan repeatedly increased funding for it, and so did George H.W. Bush after him. Christian conservatives are not bigots; they just believe in traditional values that have been central to Western civilization for so many generations. ---
